Okay, so I'm dreading next week. Its the 5th anniversary of my dad's death. And for this last month it seems like everything i look at or touch reminds me of him and i just break down crying...but its been five years i mean im almost 18 i shouldnt be acting like im 5, right? I have the support of my boyfriend, but my family isn't here to support me, they dont and havent liked me since the day my dad passed away. I'm not thinking about hurting myself in anyways...its just that my heart hurts terribly...is this normal? (link)
It is 1000% normal. You lost a human being that ment more to you then most people in the world should. He was your blood, he was the man that gave you life. Cry your heart out, you're more then allowed too. Age is just a number, a 5 year old can cry and so can an 18 year old, you're not acting like a five year old because your not crying over spilt milk, your upset about a serious matter. I'm terrible sorry about your loss and I hope everything gets better for you.
