16/m. You've probably heard this topic before, and might even be sick of it, but I am curious to know what any and all of you think a 'nice guy' is. Is he a pushover? or is he the one who will lend a should to cry on? I want to know what you personally think a nice guy is, what qualities and personality traits would follow him, if you would want to have a nice guy as a boyfriend, and should there be more of them. Sorry it's a long question, but because too many people have so many different views on what exactly a nice guy is; I think this will offer everyone a chance to see things from a different perspective - nobody is right or wrong in this one. I'm not complaining saying its a bad thing or praising them either, just curious. Thanks (link)

A nice guy ... this could take a while. A nice guy is the kinda guy that will treat girls with respect. Bottom line. You hold the doors open for us, you make us comfortable, and you make us happy, your polite. That kind of thing. I've been good friends with some truly nice guys. I also have some guy friends who i'm very aware that they aren't "nice guys" but they insist that they are. This is not good and any girl that isn't naive will see right through that bs. Being a nice guy cannot be faked and I hate when people try to do it.
A nice guy isn't a pushover necessarily. A guy can stand up for what they want or believe and still be a nice guy. And being there for us to cry on is always good. But if you like a girl and she is constantly coming to you and crying over other boys, that's you being a pushover. Is a nice guy boyfriend material? Yes. Very much so. I hate to say it though, but we usually pass the nice guys by. They aren't much of a challenge to us and they don't have much "edge". But in the end, I think the nice guys will come through because finally all of us stupid girls will realize that you've been there through all our little broken hearts.
