Q: hey
on my homeowrk i have to find the mean for a set of data. i forgot how to do this. does anyone kno?
the mean is basically just another for for the average. what you do is you add up all the numbers, and then divide the sum by the number of variables..
like if you did a survey where you asked 10 people how tall they were. let's just say that 4 people were 65 inches, 3 people were 61 inches, and 3 people were 68 inches. when you add up all the numbers, the total would be 647.. then you divide that number by the number of people, which is 10. so 647/10 would be 64.7, which means that the mean of the set of data is 64.7 inches.

hope i helped :)

thanks!
