yes many many people act like something theyre not and try to do stuff differently around the people they like. Impressing them is the main one in guys, while in girls it is mostly trying to immitate or adapt the environment of the guy. By all means it is normal, but right on the other hand i dont think so. Dont try to impress or put on a fake identity for someone else, being yourself is the best advice for everyone.
