advice

I'm an aspiring artist who is in the market for a solid-body electric guitar. I need suggestions on guitar manufacturers and companies. And opinions on the following: Fender, Gibson, Squire, Washburn, Epiphone, Ibenez, and Dean. Any advice from people who own/have owned any of these guitars is appreciated. 5's for all even if you're being a jerk.

if you are just starting to play, go with a Fender or a Fender squire. These are the most standard guitars that are easier to learn on and go well with any type of music. PLus they are not as pricy as other brands. If you have played for a few years, then the guitar brand really depends on what you are interested in. (example - Gibsons are good for rock, Ibanezs have awesome distortion which is good for metal, epiphones are good for funk and jazz, Fenders are good for anything)

i myself play a fender stratocaster at the moment

(Rating: 5) I've heard that Squires are awful. But ok.
