Am I the only one that believes people should type correctly when asking a question? Is there some way to create something that would change words that were "Chatspeak" to English?
For example:

there is dis boi, i relli relli like him! wat do i do?

Would become:

There is this boy, I really, really, like him! What do I do?

I know that is a dumb question to start with, but it's an example. I don't know how to create a program that would change the "fake" words into "real" words.. if you know, and would share, you rock!

It would be possible but really, really hard to do. You'd need to somehow arrange a proxy program for your browser, and get it to change out 'chatspeak' with real words.

From a translating perspective this is very simple, but implementing an arrangement like that is beyond most people without professional experience. Now, the people who run tools like the Google page translator could add another language type in minutes, and after that it's just a matter of making a list of 'chatspeak' words. I know that somewhere out there there's already a 'Mr. T' page translator and a 1337 page translator.

But for practical purposes, you'll probably be better off just not reading it. I don't; if someone doesn't care enough to type legibly, I sure's hell don't care enough to give myself a headache reading it.

you're right, I can't help people who type in words that I can't read. What is "waii"? It was supposed to be "way" but how am I supposed to know that? Hmm.. I know several "geeks"... they might be able to help. Thanks.
