advice
I have to do a speech and presentation in English on Tuesday. I am really nervous and hate looking at people, and if I look at my friends I just laugh. However, I can't get anything higher than a B if I don't have 'audience awareness' and I have to get all A's. So does anyone have any tips on how to be less nervous or how I can have more 'audience awareness' or even how to stop myself laughing at the funny parts of my presentation?
Thanks!!
I have to get all A's -- woah there.. an A means excellent, and a b means good.. but I'm not going to preech you on that because I'm sure people probably tell you to chill out over your grades all the time.. there is more to life, seriously.
two, how to deal with being able to focus is simple with a few simple rules.
1. wear something comfortable for your speech and presentation, and something that you are comfortable with people seeing you in.
2. be sure to make I contact with people, but try and stay away from your friends at all cost, maybe you should tell them you want to be serious during your presentation and ask them to not make you life.. if they do it anyway, well then there you've got a more serious problem but I'm not going to go into that either.
3. talk at a normal pace, don't go too slow, or too fast because you want people to be able to understand you.. it really doesn't help the teacher or the students if you are facing your presentation board and just reading off of it because then one they can't hear you, and two, they can't see what you are talking about.
4. Try and improvise a little bit, add a little humor? it breaks the ice a bit and settles you down as well, it's ok to laugh with them.. believe me, makes your grade go up everytime, because you'll look over at the teacher and she'll laugh a little and mark something on the paper. hehe..
good luck to you with your presentation, and if you need any more advice I'm always around.

(Rating: 5) That was great advice, thanks :D
About the A'S - not my choice lol. Got put onto an early entry course and if I don't get all A's I get chucked off it and have to start all over again :S
