Q: Hey! I am trying out for the school play on Tuesday, there is 100+ people trying out (some 6th, 7th and 8th graders, I am in 8th, not that it matters) but I am scared. I had Speech and Drama for 12 weeks with the teacher that is going to be the one judging tryouts, I have performed in some stuff before (our teacher picked our group to perform in front of the school with our scence from the Jungle Book, she picked me to give my speech at Grandparents Day, and I was Lady Macbeth in a play a few years back) but I am still so nervous. Anyone have any advice on trying out, how to make my acting better, things to do or not to do in tryouts, etc? It would be much appreciated, and I rate high!

Thanks!

This sounds really simple, but it helps a lot. Make sure that you stand up straight, hold your head up, and speak really clearly. Don't yell, but use your loudest normal voice.

Break a leg!

Thanks. =)
