i had the same problem. the units told me no way, but instead they just surprised me with it.
just hint, OFTEN! maybe do a few extra chores around the house and stuff, and when they complain about how they didn't know where you were, or they didn't know when to pick you up, just say, well if i had a cell phone, this wouldn't be a problem.
