hey! does anyone know any good tips for training a rabbit? my rabbit's really jumpy and i want it to relax and be calm when i'm around... i also want it to play a little bit, and maybe let me hold it.. right now he barely lets me pick him up... thanks so much!!

i had the same problem with my rabbit, the key to solving the problem is patience. rabbits are very excitable and you have to earn their trust before you can interact with them. try just sitting next to the cage for awhile, and let it get used to your presence. talk softly to it, and don't make any loud noises or sudden movements. gradually open the cage, and leave it open for awhile until it gets used to this. then try stroking it on the back--not the neck, as that will traumatize it more. eventually, it will realize you aren't going to hurt it and will start to trust you.
(Rating: 5) haha omg that's exactly what i've been doing these past couple weeks and it seems to be working!! lol thanks! ~Lana (xpianogirl89x)
