Hey. I really want to join the step team for my middle school, but I don't know how to step. I don't know if they will teach you how to step or if you already have to know it. Please give me advice because I really need your help! thanx.

Ask around. Maybe the coach / teacher knows something, and can tell you, after all, s/he is the one teaching.
