Dear Alicia,
Hello. I'm 16 and a female. I was wondering if you could help me out...see, I'm dating this guy who I dated several times, but him and I have just grown so far apart from the first time. He thinks we are perfect together but, I don't know if I feel the same. We have fun together, but he always wants to be together, but like you, I love going out and having fun and not worrying about anything. I feel like I'm treating him bad, but, if I break up with him I won't only be losing him as boyfriend, I'll also be losing him as a great friend. I hope you can help me out...Thanks a bunch-*Confused* (link)

If your gut instinct is telling you that this guy just isn't right for you, then you should go with that feeling. If things were going well, you wouldn't have this doubt. It sounds like he is smothering you a little bit and maybe it is moving a bit too fast for you? You shouldn't just dump him and not tell him why. Sit him down and explain that you really like spending time with him and you like him a lot, but you want to take things slower. Explain that you would hate to ruin the friendship that you have. If he really is a friend and respects your feelings, he will understand how you feel and will try to make things better.

Thank you! I hate gut feelings *haha*...but, you're right, I do have to think this over and explain to him what I've been feeling. Thank you again! :)
