It's not a bacteria, it's a roundworm that can make children go blind. Something like 90 % of dogs have roundworms, as well as other internal parasites which are all contageous to humans. Tapeworms, whipworms, hookworms, lungworms, etc etc... Also, it's not just children who are affected by the roundworms. But children are more likely to go blind because of their immune system. I know this because I work at a vet clinic. Thanks for your help. we're working on getting a sensor light.
