An apology to advicenators. (please read this)

Question Posted Monday December 18 2006, 10:55 pm

As this is not actually a question i realise i am wasting your time. But i would like to apologise sincerly to all the columnists of advicenators for my unneccesary complaint regarding your advice.

I myself am only 18 years old (which i can understand adds an entirely new dimension of hypocrisy to my complaint) and at the time of writing my complaint i was having some problems with a girlfriend of mine... So there you have it, i was probably in a situation where i should have been asking for advice but instead i chose to blame those who take the time to give it. I was reading a few entries (i am easily distracted) and came across one in particular where the person giving the advice was criticizing people for bad spelling and diminishing them like they didn't even have the right to have problems. I, being a very confrontational individual (blindly so), chose to lash out at this site, and stupidly made it out that i was having teenagers on for thinking they had a right to help people who are in need.

One thing i did not expect was to recieve countless emails with hundreds among hundreds of responses. I read everyone of them. During the entire time i realised how absurdly blind and judgmental i had been. Many of the responses really put me in my place and i was hurt by many others (rightly so) but it was those that were considerate enough to challenge my opinion and still retain a positive mood throughout that truly moved me. I am no-one to say what should and should not be said to people in need and i am certainly not in any way "above you" regardless of age. I (without any research or for that matter any thought) lashed out at those that least deserved it. After reading everyone of your responses i realise now that what you do is a special thing and i am truly humbled by the amount of effort, time, and love you put into other people to do what you do.

I was in a horrible mood, i did a stupid thing, and i am so sorry for anyone i may have offended.

Regards.
