aboutNotice: From now on if you want to tell me something or ask me a question that has nothing to do with advice, you can IM me at thefishaim. Thank you! - The Fish.
Question: "I like someone, but I don't know if they like me, how can I tell?"
Answer: Everybody is different, I have no way of knowing how your crush expresses him/herself. The best way is to just ask them, you'll never get anywhere if you don't.
I'm sorry to be rude, but these are the only questions I have been seeing in my inbox, and I am tired of them. I won't be answering them anymore.
Other random advice: Slinkies are FUN!
hey. i just got a new fone and its a razer from verizon but i'm confused on a couple of things, and i don't feel like reading the book. lol. what is pix and flix??? i've like, never heard of eaither of those. so if anyone could tell me that would be great. thanx!!
Pix = Pics = Pictures.
Flix = Flicks = Movies/Video clips.
Hope that clears it up! :)
hey im a guy, 13, and i was wondering is there any way i can buy stuff online. i have a paypal account but some of the stuff i want needs a credit card.....any ideas? if i get a bank account can i order online
Ask your mother to use her credit card. Seriously, that's the only thing you can do. If you tried to use a credit card yourself, you probably wouldn't be able to handle the responsibility. That's not an insult to you, since a lot of adults can't handle the responsibility of a credit card. If you had a checking account you could use your debit card as a credit card online, but the two problems with that are...(I think) you have to be eighteen for this, and you would be giving out your bank account information and making it easy for people to steal your identity. So, sorry, you're going to have to use cash at the mall for now. :)
i want to save some questions on here, not to answer them.
'cause i have the same question, but people already answered it.
though i won't remember the answer when i actually need it.
so, is there a way to do that?
You probably have a program like Notepad or Wordpad on your computer. Just copy and paste the URL to the question, or the question itself and all the answers, and save it to a file. Put it in a folder or on a disk called "Advicenators Questions". That is the only way to do it, but it's pretty simple. :)
My son is 8 years old. He has a very good memory power. He now can tell capitals of all the 193 countries in the world.
Can yu advice me of any other items like above which he can master? Eg currencies of countries, etc.
At places like the Discovery Channel store and really any learning store, they have a lot of study aids for kids, such as fake money. However, remember that memorizing things like this, while useful, isn't the only important thing for him to learn. He needs to learn how to form his own opinions about things, because not long from now, he's going to be writing essays! Teach him grammar and spelling, and read books with him all the time. It sounds stupid, but just reading Nancy Drew books with my mother when I was little helped me a great deal in school. It's also important for him to know history. And of course, he needs to have fun and not just study all the time, but I'm not assuming that all you do is make him memorize things! :D
ive heard that you can get laser treatment for facial hair, and i was wondering if you have to get it done only once and then the hair is gone forever or if you have to do it like once a month?
Okay, I don't know about laser treatment because it's VERY expensive, but what I do is electrolysis. Basically, they pull out the hair and give it an electric shock at the same time, and then that particular hair will never grow back--it's dead! However, you have to keep going back (I go once a week), because they can't possibly zap all the hairs in one session, and also, the electricity stimulates other hairs and makes them grow up. It also hurts quite a bit but is worth it.
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/laser-hair-removal/HQ00981 this site has some information on it, but I don't know how reliable it is. From what I've been able to find, you may have to go for more than one treatment, and it costs about $450 per treatment. However, I'm paying $40 a week for deity knows how many weeks, so maybe it all adds up to about the same. Anyway, check that site, and look it up on google, because I really don't know much about laser treatment.
i dont understand. is limewire illegal?
like lets say i downloaded it. and i downloaded new songs onto my computer from it. is that illegal?
Downloading Limewire isn't illgal, but using it to download songs is. :)
okay i do NOT believe in insest in the least. but i have a question. okay is it insest to like a distant distant relative? my friend said it wasnt because she likes her distant distant relative. but i thought that whether it was distant or not it was still insest to like your relative. so my question is, is it insest to like you "distant distant" relative? please help i am super confused.
Well, first of all, it's "incest". Sorry, just had to get that out of the way. Secondly, incest has a pretty broad definition. It can mean two members of the same family who have engaged in any sort of sexual behavior, or it can mean the rape of one family member by another. If a person raped their stepchild, for example, that would be incest.
But in this case, it doesn't count as incest. In most places, you would actually be allowed to marry. In many states, you can actually marry your first cousin (that is to say, your aunt's son, for example). This practice was pretty common and accepted up until a couple of decades ago, and still is in many places. States that do not allow first-cousin marriages probably allow third or even second-cousin marriages.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incest#Distinctions_between_incest_and_inbreeding has a lot of information about this topic.
I don't think anybody reasonable would have a problem with it if you had a relationship with this person. And if they do, it doesn't matter, because it's your business. :)
Is it appropriate to like the guy who's your mom's boyfriend's daughter's fiancee's cousin? Becasue I really do like him but I'm not sure if that's too close in the family or anything...your thoughts on this would be appreciated! :D
Yes. Honestly, even if he was your mother's boyfriend's son , I would still think it would be fine (that's just my opinion, other people flip out over this). But in this case, he's not even related to your mother's boyfriend, so I don't see how anybody would think it's a problem. And you can't help how you feel, after all.
would you go out with a guy whos hot, nice and cool but he has a F or D in his classes?
I've had poor grades before, so I don't judge people based on that. However, it depends on how he's handling it. If he's not doing anything about it and just doesn't care, then no, I don't want to spend any time with that guy. It makes me wonder what else he doesn't care about in life. But if he's trying hard to bring the grade back up, and he had all the other qualities I look for in a boyfriend, then yes, I would admire that greatly and go out with him. As for the title question (because I see being smart and having good grades as entirely different things), no, I wouldn't go out with someone who isn't intelligent. He doesn't have to be a genius, he doesn't even require "book learnin'", he just needs to have a brain. I don't like thinking for two. :) Just my preference.

Okay. So theres this guy..D..we dated in the past. An recently we broke up. A couple weeks after we broke up I started missing him..dearly. He came over today. We, kinda, had sex. This wasnt the first time either. I know I should be trying to get over him. But I love him. So So So Much. The Problem is..he doesnt want a relationship but he also says he doesnt want to lose me. I want him to be happy. I just love him soo much. I don't know what to do.. help me..please
Can you say "jerk"?! Basically what he's saying is that he doesn't want to put the time and effort into spending time with you, getting to know you as a person, and giving you the love and attention you deserve, but he wants to have sex with you. Does this seem fair to you? You think you love him, and maybe you do, but you shouldn't waste your time on somebody who doesn't love you back. Just tell him, straight up, you're not going to let yourself be used, and forget about him! It gets easier as you go along! Just think to yourself every day that you don't need that, you're better off without him, and find something to do on your own, like working out, writing, art, anything. You are responsible for your own happiness, not his. He needs to learn that he can't always get what he wants, and he can't treat people that way, and you're just the person to teach him.
Okay, so I got my braces off the other day so obviously now I have retainers. What I want to know is, for people who've had them, did you ACTUALLY wear them 24/7? They hurt a little& are EXTREMELY annoying. I know I'll wear them to bed, & probably at home, but I don't want to wear them all the time at school/with friends.
So basically, I'm asking, did you wear them all the time or about 2/3 of the time & still were okay?
My brother told me he wore them basically at night & when he was at home & I know he's fine.
[Please don't preach to me about how I should do as my orthodontist says or whatever, she's kind of a psycho so I can't really trust her, plus they all say to wear them all the time but I know people don't...]
Okay, when I got mine, I was told to wear it 24/7 for the first week, except when eating. After that, only to bed. However, I had the plastic kind. My friend had a metal bar that went across her teeth, and she did wear it all the time. If you have the plastic kind and it hurts, give it time. If it's digging into your gums, use a nail file to file the edges down. And if your ortho is psychotic, you should report her and find a new one. Hope I helped!
Alright. I have this costume picnic thing, and I'm supposed to dress as a character from Peter Pan. However, I DON'T want to be Wendy, Tiger Lily or Tinkerbell. I know at least 3 girls doing each one. I was thinking I could do a pirate costume, and wear a renessance type outfit with a sword... what do you think?
Seems totally reasonable to me. Pirates are the hot thing right now, too, so you'll be able to find a lot of accessories without looking too hard. :D Great idea! I mean, personally I'd be Tiger Lily, but I admire your originality.
Superman once wrote on the wall:"Batman is a stupid jerk."
The next day Batman wrote: "Superman is Clark Kent."
Superman can't let his enemies know that he's Clark Kent, because then they will attack people that Clark Kent is close to, such as Lois Lane. Also, everyone would bother him 24/7 and he wouldn't get a moment to himself. So, because Superman insulted him, Batman revealed Superman's secret identity, and basically Superman is now screwed.
It's pretty funny! :D :D
Okay so our housekepper had a stroke and had to move in with her sister a few weeks ago. How long should I expect for her to be gone. How long are most stroke victims "down"? I dont mean to be insensitive but we really need her back.
My grandmother had a stroke about seven years ago. She's still "down", and unless there is some miracle that restores her brain cells, she will never be "up". She can't talk, can't walk, and is entirely dependent on others. No offense, but I think it's time to advertise for a new housekeeper, or learn to pick up after yourself. :D
I forget what the flavors were.. but their colors are YELLOW, ORANGE, PINK, OR RED. pick any one of those 4 colors. please dont say something else like "green" because that wont help me at all.. its for this project i have to do in school. thanks for helping! ♥
It's always red, no matter what candy it is. I just have this thing about the red flavor (which I think, in Starbursts and most candy, is cherry, if that helps.)
what does it mean when you find a indian pointing his bow at a star mean on a tootsie roll pop wrapper ???
Supposedly, if you bring it to the store or ice cream truck where you bought it, they give you one for free. However, I never tested this theory. I always assumed it was a temporary thing that they stopped doing before I was born, as did all my friends. Basically, we just liked those wrappers because they were cool/special, and whichever member of our group got it was the "winner". Next time you get one, you can try to bring it back for a free one, but I really doubt they'd do it.
For once in my life, I have met my soulmate and we're getting married July 28th. The thing I've been wondering is my friend who is 18 well we've liked eachother for quite a while, but I know nothing will progress since he's such a sweet guy, I just think he needs to find someone his age. Even though we like eachother, I just can't go any further with him not just because I'm getting married but because I'm 25 and he's 18, and he's only a Junior in High School. I just want to be friends with him, but I don't know how to tell him because we'd went farther then we should have in the first place. So if anyone has any suggestions let me know please. Should I break off the friendship or keep it??
This is just my opinion, but I think you should break it off. I might be wrong, but it seems that from what you're saying, you might be tempted to go too far with this guy. If not, you don't know how he feels. What if being close to you as a friend is too much for him, and he can't get over you? I think it's only fair for both of you to get some distance between each other. You don't have to break your friendship for good, but just take it slowly. And talk about it with him! I could be way off base with everything I said above, but I do know that you won't solve anything if you never say anything. You said you don't know how to tell him, but you know how you feel about the situation, so just tell him that. Start with "I need to talk to you." and go from there. That's really the only way to save your friendship. :)
i know on the sims 2 on the computer the people and babies actually grow up, but have you ever played it on xbox? does the same thing happen? because the sims on the comp and the sims on xbox r diff i dont know about sims 2 tho.
I haven't played it on Xbox, but I have played the PS2 version, and it's VERY different from the computer version. I think my friend told me that you can have babies but they can't grow up (she could be wrong, though, or I might have misunderstood her), but I've heard that in the Xbox version, you can't have babies at all. The console version is still fun...I usually just make Sims so that they can have romantic relationships and cheat on each other, so I don't really care if I can't make them have kids, but if you wanted to have many generations (like a legacy challenge), then it's not for you.
http://xbox.about.com/od/reviews/fr/sims2rev.htm has more information.
I need your help deciding what the ideal menu for a public dinner would be.
Not knowing what would be the best dishes to serve is making this an impossible task.
If you will tell me your favorite foods, or point me to your favorite recipes, it would really help a lot.
You can list as many things as you like. They don't have to be fancy things at all. I am all about the comfort food baby! :)
This will be a mixed group of people so I would like to have something for everyone.
Cooking for a banquet is not as hard as trying to figure out WHAT to cook!
Everyone will receive feedback.
P.S. If all that was a lot to digest, pun intended, here is a summary: Please list all your favorite foods.
Fried chicken, potato salad, and cheescake.
