When I use the bathroom there is blood in my stool
Go to your doctor.
There are many possible reasons for having blood in your stools, some much more serious than others. No one on here will be able to give you a definitive answer.
Please make an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible.

i used to poke my hand inside the vagina to clean it, is this right? A friend told me I'm not suppose to coz my vagina needs those discharge bacterias! Can u please advise
Your vagina is a clever piece of kit and contrary to popular belief it requires very little maintenance.
Your friend is right, discharge is the vagina's natural way of cleaning itself and shouldn't be messed with. It's a myth that you need to constantly and thoroughly clean your vagina for it to be clean.
You should only ever clean the outside of your vagina once or twice a day with a gentle soap and water, or a wash such as Vagisil which is specially formulated for use in that area.
Over washing or using harsh products on your vagina will strip it of its natural bacteria and cause problems such as Thrush and Bacterial Vaginosis. You definitely don't want to be poking anything about up there trying to 'clean' it, you'll almost certainly cause more harm than good.

If a birth control pill makes you gain weight (10-15 pounds), when you stop taking it will you automatically lose all that weight? Or is it like if you normally gained weight, where you have to work hard to get rid of it?
When I stopped taking the Pill I did lose a little bit of a weight but not everything I had put on. Once you stop taking it, you will find that losing weight is alot easier but you will still have to do some work.

Hi, i'm 13 years old and have wanted a piercing for about 2 years now.My guardians have said i have to wait until i'm 13.And i was wondering if anyone knew of any places near Muskegon MI that will do a tongue piercing?
Most piercing/tattoo studios won't pierce you under the age of 16 and to be honest, the ones that are willing to probably aren't the kind of places you want to have a needle shoved through your tongue in.
My sister got her tongue pierced when she was 14 at a dodgy backstreet piercing studio in some random guy's house. A few weeks later a story appeared in the local paper about another underage girl who had also got her tongue pierced at this place. Turned out it had got horribly infected because the equipment wasn't sterilized and the wrong jewellery was used. She ended up in A&E.
Trust me, body piercing is not something you want to take risks with. It's best to wait until you are of an age where a reputable studio will pierce you.
If you insist on going ahead with it, do your research. Websites like BMEzine (http://www.bme.com/) have stories and pictures for piercings and you may be able to find a good studio in your local area which other people have had good experiences at. Try and go somewhere which has been recommended to you and appears clean and sterile.

So heres the deal im 15 and i really wanna get a bikini wax cause shaving is a pain in the *** and i can never really get the difficult areas with a razor and i just liek it to be nice and clean down there ya kno.. so i have a giftcard to this spa and they offer bikini or french bikin dont know which one too choose? i really want to do it but im nervous its kinda weird to just spread your legs for some stranger.. so can they do it with underwear on just manaveur around the underwear and how far do they go? do i really need to leave it unshaved for 3 weeks thats nastyy. any other things would help! Please and thankkk youu!
First let me just clarify for you what the types of wax mean:-
Bikini: Literally just the hair from the bikini line is removed. This means any hair that would show if you were wearing a high cut bikini.
French Bikini: Slightly more hair is removed than with a standard bikini wax. Hair further down will also be removed, the beautician won't go all the way back to the buttocks and hair will be left on the labia.
Brazilian: All hair is removed except for a thin strip at the front, above your labia. There will be no hair left on your labia, underneath or buttocks.
Hollywood: All off. Literally everything.
Personally, I would recommend waxing. It saves the annoyance of having to shave and it leaves you smoother for longer. The good thing about waxing is that the more you do it, the longer regrowth takes and the finer the hair will be when it does come back.
Bikini and French bikini are good places to start as not alot of hair is removed and you can keep your knickers on. The downside is that you will still be left with most of your hair. If you prefer your pubic hair to be at a minimum then you'd probably be more pleased with the results of a Brazilian or Hollywood wax.
With a Brazilian or Hollywood, you will need to strip and spread your legs. Most salons offer paper knickers which the beautician will move around to get to the areas they need to but to be honest, they don't make alot of difference. It is embarrassing at first but you have to remember that the person waxing you is an experienced professional. They do this all day every day and won't bat an eyelid. It always reassures me to know that I won't be the worst they've seen by far.
It DOES hurt. I'd be lying if I said it didn't. Bikini and French bikini waxes are less painful than Brazilians and Hollywoods because the hair is removed from less delicate areas. Taking two Ibuprofen and two Paracetemol (they're safe to take together) 30-45 minutes before your wax will help a little.
A word on regrowth - ideally hair needs to be around 1cm long before a wax. Any shorter and it will be much more painful and the hair will be really difficult to remove.

i recenttly hit my head while swimming i couldnt see so i went to the hospital and they said it was a cuncution its been 1 month since then and i still get blurry vission also im having trouble focasing and saying big words should i go back to the hospital? what could those symptoms mean? thanks
You really need to get yourself to a hospital asap.
Head injuries can be incredibly serious and this is not an area where it is a good idea to take a chance or guess. It would be difficult, if not impossible, for even a qualified doctor to diagnose you over the internet.
Seek medical attention immediately.

I am a girl and I am 13 and I haven't had my first period yet. I also haven't started to have a lot of breast development. I am confused about the signs. I have had discharge but nothing more. Please give me your advice.
Everyone develops at different rates.
I have friends who got their periods at 11 and started developing breasts before that but I also know people who didn't until they were 16, they're all normal.
Discharge is a sign that you will probably start your period within the next year or so. Usually you will start to develop hair under your arms and in your pubic area as well as the beginnings of breasts before you get your first period, so it's likely that this will all happen soon too.
Why not try asking some of the females in your family mother/sisters'/aunts etc when they started their periods? It's likely that you'll be similar to them and it might reassure you.

is being bulimic bad?
Yes, not in the sense that it makes the sufferer a bad person but that it is hugely damaging to them - both mentally and physically - and those around them.
Bulimia can lead to a whole host of complications, including damage to the teeth caused by the repeated exposure to stomach acid, stomach ulcers, dehydration and heart problems (in extreme cases, heart attacks). As a mental illness it can be incredibly destructive, leading to depression and suicide.
According to this website (http://www.mamashealth.com/bulimia.asp), 10% of bulimics in the United States die as a result of the illness - from starvation, cardiac arrest, other medical complications or suicide.
Symptoms include eating uncontrollably, vomiting or using laxatives to lose weight, strict dieting/fasting, excessive exercise, depression, mood swings, dental problems, sore throat and blood shot eyes. If you (or suspect someone you know) is suffering from bulimia then you should seek immediate medical help.

I have stretch marks on my butt. I hate them cuz it looks so ugly. What can i do to make them go away?
btw im a teenage girl. age 15-17
Unfortunately stretch marks never go away completely. Over time they will fade so you can barely see them but they will always be there. To speed up the process, get yourself some Bio-Oil, which is formulated to fade scars and stretch marks and massage that on the affected area daily. Alternatively you can use a rich body lotion like cocoa butter.
Remember that stretch marks are really common and almost all women get them at some stage in their life.

I'm 17 years old, and i haven't gotten my period yet this month. I should of gotten it a few days ago, because i got it november 9th, december 10th, and january 8th. it is pretty regular now. today is february 12th and i still have not gotten it, but i had cramps this past week and i've been emotional. i had sex for the first time with my boyfriend in january but i've never had sex without a condom. i took a pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative. could the fact that i haven't gotten my period yet be because of stress? i also heard that when you have sex it changes your cycle. could that also be why i haven't gotten it?
As far as I know, having sex doesn't change your cycle but stress can delay a period. Unless the test was one designed to pick up pregnancy hormones early, take another one in a few days just to be on the safe side. The chances are slim though so try not to worry.
If you're going to be having regular sex with your boyfriend, consider using another form of contraception (such as the Pill, implant, coil etc) along with the condoms to be extra safe.

16 / F / 5'7 / 117 lbs
(If that has any thing to do with it.)
Usually when I stand up I blackout for about 8-10 seconds, but I can still walk the path I'm going if I know it well. (Ex: From my bedroom to my staircase) But this past week it's gotten worse. It's to a point where when I stand up I black out & I get dizzy, so I'm forced to either just sit/lay down on whatever is closest, which usually happens to be the floor. I don't know what's causing it.
I'm not sure if it has anything to do with this past weekend, I was very sick with nausea which made me lose my appetite for two days, & really bad chest & lower stomach pains. I was also falling every time I stood up. But like I said, now I just have to sit down, I'm not collapsing anymore.
Sorry if it's long, I'm just worried.
You need to see a doctor asap.
It could be nothing, it could be something more serious. We are not qualified doctors and even if we were, it is impossible to diagnose someone correctly over the internet. The only way to get an accurate diagnosis and any necessary treatment is to see someone in person.

So I've done as much research of my own on this, and well I still am. BMEzine gave me quite a bit of information on hip piercings, about rejection and migration, like most surface piercings. I really want them and I will get them, I just want more help on how to go about it, I live in Illinois I'm 18. Any advise, should I go with dermals? Or the surface bar? Nylon? Titanium or stainless steel? Any good piercers too? Your stories, suggestions, please and thank you!
I don't have my hips pierced but I have had several surface piercings and a microdermal.
In my experience, surface bars are really hard to keep. My most successful one has been my nape, which I have managed to keep for over a year now. The worst one was my wrist, which I had to take out after a month because it caught on everything all the time and was really painful. I imagine you would have this problem with hip bars. Personally, I found that my piercings have healed better if I use saline solutions for the first few days and then just left them alone. Everyone is different though and you will find plenty of people who prefer to clean their piercings religiously.
If you went for this option, you would need to be really careful about the placement. Look at where your clothes sit on your hips and potential threats to the piercing (e.g. belts).
Personally, I would go for stainless steel or titanium surface bar. It needs to be a proper surface bar to give the piercing the best chance at healing. A straight or curved bar will apply too much pressure to the skin and will reject.
Microdermals are a good option. They are much less likely to reject and easier to heal and as a result will almost definitely last longer than a surface bar. They require alot less care and attention with cleaning and are mostly happy to be left alone. However, you will still need to be careful about placement as they can still get caught and pulled out. Cons? They are expensive and need to be removed by a professional. If you can afford it and don't mind having a more permanent piercing, I would go for the microdermals.
Regardless of what you choose, bear in mind that if and when you choose to remove the piercing, there will be a scar. I have two purple dots on my wrist from where I took my surface bar out and they aren't particularly attractive. Removing a piercing as soon as you notice signs of rejection will minimise scarring, as will getting it removed by a professional (which you will have to do anyway in the case of microdermals).
Do your research before choosing a piercer and make sure you visit the studio before making an appointment. It should be clean and sterile and the piercer should be fully licensed and able to provide you with a portfolio of healed piercings. He/she should also be prepared to inform you about the risks involved, procedure and aftercare. If you have a bad feeling about the place then leave. If possible, search the studio online to see if there are any reviews available and speak to anyone you know who has been there.

My skin used to be beautiful, it was flawless and I had a nice glowing olive skin. I was also really skinny, my nanny used to call me a stick because of it. After my 12th birthday I started my period and therefore had breakouts. I wasn't bothered at first because they weren't really bad and mum said it was normal. Then, for about a year, I noticed scars and marks from the spots I had. I dont pick on them but still they scar, so now I have scars on my face, back and chest. I also gained weight, thought it was normal, until I noticed that my bum and thighs are getting bigger, and not only that, I had stretchmarks! It's not that im really fat or anything, Im 5"1 and 8stone and i have stretchmarks. And then, last year i had chickenpox and every single blister turned to scars, now i have scars all over my body! Im really self conscious now and dont wear shorts and skirts without tights, I dont wear bikinis anymore too, and were goin on a summer holiday in asia, its stupid wearing jeans on the beach where its really hot. I think I may have really bad skin collagen structure or something that makes my skin scar more easily. Im so worried its gonna stay forever. Its affecting my self confidence.
I have had similar problems. I have alot of chicken pox scars on my forehead and bad stretchmarks. As for never wearing skirts and shorts without tights, I feel your pain on that too.
Stretchmarks aren't all about weight gain. When you hit puberty, your body changes very quickly and your skin literally has to stretch to accomodate these changes. Unfortunately, for a girl, this means bigger hips, bigger thighs and a bigger bum. This is to prepare the body for carrying and giving birth to a child. As a result, it's really, really common for girls to get stretchmarks in these areas. It's also normal to get them on your boobs for the same reason. Like me, most of my friends have them in at least one area so don't feel you're alone in this.
There are a couple of things you can do. The first and probably the cheapest is to get some Bio-Oil. You can find it in most pharmacies and the beauty aisles of supermarkets and it's not horribly expensive. Using that every day will help fade the appearance of your acne scars and stretchmarks. Stretchmarks do fade over time to a silvery grey colour a using Bio-Oil will speed up this process considerably. However, stretchmarks never go away completely. If your chicken pox scars are like mine - the kind which are kind of like craters - then it will be hard to get rid of them without cosmetic treatment. However, you may feel less self conscious about them if your other marks are less noticeable.
The second thing I would advise is to visit a professional dermatologist. He/she will not only be able to prescribe you something for your break outs but may also be able to offer further advice on your scars.
In general, drinking lots of water will ensure your skin looks heathly and glowing. You could also take a vitamin formulated for healthy skin. Using non-oily skin products which are designed for problem skin will significantly improve your acne, as will fully removing your make up before you go to bed.
Another little tip I'll give you is that your scars and stretchmarks will probably look less noticeable on tanned skin. I am very pale but if I know I'm going to be in a situation where I have to show my body, a little fake tan really does improve the appearance of my stretchmarks. In the short term this may be a solution for you, especially for your holiday to Asia.
Regardless of these things, it's vital you get you self confidence back up. The suggestions above may help eventually but they are not quick fixes, you need something to make you feel better in the mean time. Everyone has things they don't like about their body and it's not very nice when it affects your daily life. One thing you've got to remember is that often, the things we dislike about our bodies aren't even that noticeable to other people. Focussing on and drawing attention to your good qualities will make you feel so much better and people will notice these instead of your scars and marks.

I have been on the pill for about 2 months, i forgot to take it one day, took it the next, with the pill corresponding that day too.. Had sexual relantionship with my boyfriend, and i have been having this brown liquid for 10 days or something like that, my period was suppose to come 10 days ago too, and i am getting really nervous about the whole situation as i have read this could mean i am pregnant, I am going to be 18 in 3 months, and I'm basically terrified this could be it.. PLEASE HELP ME OUT, if this has happened to anyone.. or you know anything about it. I am from Spain.
The 'brown liquid' is your period.
When you first go on the Pill, it messes with your hormones and your cycle. It's normal for your period to change colour slightly or last longer to begin with. You took your Pill the next day after you missed it so you're probably covered, especially as you're having your period now. Take a test just to make sure but I wouldn't worry too much.
Next time you forget your Pill for longer than 12 hours, use a condom for 7 days to be on the safe side.

Hello i've been on birth control for about 3 years now and my husband is going to be deployed for a year and we're going to try to have kids when he comes back so i wanted to get off birth control now to help my body become "natural" again. I've been off Yaz birth control for about a month and a half now and i still havent gotten my period. Is this normal? When should i expect it? Anybody else have experiences like this? Thanks in advance!
This is pretty normal. It can take a while for your body to readjust after coming off birth control, especially if you've been on it for a long time, so it's difficult to give an exact time. I came off it after two years and it was about 8 weeks before I had a period but everyone is different. For now there isn't really anything you can do but wait but if you are still concerned, check in with your doctor to make sure everything's okay.

I know in this day that lots of people are HIV+ or have AIDS. I know they can lead decently healthy lives. Just, personally, I have never known an HIV positive person or someone suffering from AIDS, and, of course, I do not want something like this. It's just scary.
Yesterday I was at work and this new guy said something about getting AIDS tested the day before. He was talking to another guy from work that he's made friends with.
I am really feeling weird about this. I know HIV/AIDS has to be spread through blood or some sort of bodily fluids like that. I know I'm not going to just catch it from the air or just looking at him. I'm a bit uncomfortable though and I'm nervous. I won't ever know if the test says he's positive or not probably. I mean that's not something you go around screaming at work.
Should I look for another job? I'm serious about this making me uncomfortable. There isn't anything that can make me relaxed around this guy and I don't want my work to suffer because I'm too focused on him possibly having an STD. He does seem like a good guy apart from this possible problem so it's nothing "against" him. I've only been at the job for maybe 6 months so it isn't like I've been working there for years and years.
What would you do?
What should I do?
I think you're overreacting.
Getting tested for HIV is the sensible thing to do if you've had sex with a new partner. I've been tested, as have several of my friends. The fact that he's just getting a test shouldn't make you feel uncomfortable. If he's telling people about it then it's probably just a routine test.
In fact, even if he did have HIV, it's highly unlikely that you're going to be sleeping with him or coming into contact with his blood. As long as his blood doesn't find its way inside you somehow, you're not going to get it.
It's backward and unfair to feel uncomfortable about someone for having a disease. Quitting your job just because a colleague may have an illness that doesn't even affect you seems like a rather extreme decision.

i am 13 and i have not got my period yet and i realy want it how can i get it and how will i know if i am going to get it
There is no set age to start your period. Anything between 11 and 16 is normal. Periods are one of the final stages of puberty, generally you will begin to develop breasts, pubic hair etc first.
Seriously though, you do not want it. It can be really annoying, appreciate not having it while you still can!

I acquired a sunburn tan, meaning that my skin burned first and turned into a tan. Now, the skin is very dark and doesn't feel natural. It has a soft leather feel. Will this eventually go away? Because I have to say that I don't really like the look or feel.
**I am unable to use the sunscreen that we purchased because it makes my skin irritated and I have yet to purchase sunscreen meant for sensitive skin.
The 'leathery' feeling is sun damage. It should go away eventually but unless you start wearing sunscreen, you'll probably end up with skin like that forever.
I suggest you moisturise your skin with a sensitive, non-scented lotion to help with its appearance and texture.
In future, please, please wear sunscreen. Having a tan now is NOT worth looking awful by the time you're 40.

so.. i put my first tampon in for the first time last night and i didn't really know how but i figured it out. i slept in it.. which was about eight to nine hours.. i woke up and went to the bathroom and i tried to take it out.. it didn't and so i went to the bathroom and it still didn't.. what do i do? is it because i stopped my period maybe? all i know is that it REALLY hurts when i try to take it out :(
It's really important that you remove this tampon now, even if it hurts to do so. It's not safe to leave a tampon in for longer than 8 hours as you are potentially putting yourself at risk of infection or even worse, Toxic Shock.
It could be that your period ended or that the absorbency is too high. Most females find that their flow is heavier and lighter at different times during their cycle. For example, it's common to have a heavy flow at the beginning and then a light one at the end of your period. If this is the case for you, you shouldn't be using the same absorbency of tampon the whole way through your period. You should always use the lowest absorbency possible. So if your period is very light, don't use a tampon designed for a heavy period.

i think i'm anemic, ("think" meaning i have all the symptoms, just haven't been properly diagnosed) so i'm tired all the time. seriously, the only time i'm NOT complaining about being tired is when i'm asleep. then no matter how much sleep i get, still tired. but thats not what my question is about.
my question is about the fact that i'm tired all the time, but i'm very jumpy and twitchy. like i'll be sitting on the ground and my legs will be bouncing, or when i'm sitting anywhere, any way, my leg will be bouncing. i try to stop but it feels like i need to. and then if they're not moving, my hands are playing with something; my hair, my fingers, my clothes, a pencil, paper, etc. or i'll be moving around in my chair. anyone know why this is? anyone who sees this might think i have infinite energy, but its the exact opposite.
In order to determine if you are anemic, you will need a blood test and therefore it is essential you visit your doctor. He/she is the only person who can give you a correct diagnosis, we cannot diagnose you over the internet. Your symptoms could be indications of any number of conditions and it's important you see a professional who can assess you properly.
