I'm Matt and I'm a 15 year old guy. I'm your average guy who likes the three basics: hanging out, sports, and girls. I like all sports, but hockey and football would have to be my favorites. I play on defense for my hockey team, Epron Vikings, which explains my name on here. I have a girlfriend, Leah, and I love her to death, lol. She's basically my world and I wouldn't be anything if it weren't for her. Yeah, so I like to give advice, even though it seems like most guys wouldn't be interested in that sort of thing. I'm actually very sensitive and understanding deep down and most people don't really know that side of me, which is why I'm keeping this advice column a secret from my friends and anyone else, lol. But, I'll be glad to give anyone advice that needs it, just send me whatever you need help with.

How can I get started in skateboarding? There's no one around to help me but I see it in movies and it looks interesting. I'm too scared to ask the people at the skatepark because I am a girl, which should not be a problem but there might be. I have a board and can ride it. (link)

I'm a pretty good skateboarder, but believe me, it took a lot of falling down to get good, lol. Basically you have to teach yourself. The hardest part is learning not to fall off the board. At first, when you're beginning to learn how, practice just going straight on a flat surface such as your driveway or a sidewalk somewhere, and try to keep your balance. Plus, I know a ton of great girl skateboarders. Everything takes practice to get good at it and believe me, it will be frustrating at first. Maybe you could get a bunch of friends to learn with you? And also, they usually have skate camp and stuff at skate parks, the local one where I live also offers lessons, so check that out too if you're seriously interested in it.
