Q: Hi, I posted a question not too long ago about getting a job babysitting. I followed the amazing advice that was given to me, and I think I might have a job at a day care. Thats what I'm asking about.

I'm 19, and I think I got the job. She said she'd call me back in a week or so after my fingerprints came back and background check; I went to my old work, and my old manager there told me some lady called asking about me, and that she told the lady very good things.

But what I'm really wondering, is how much do people at a daycare get paid in TN? I heard is $5, and I've even heard $9. I'd ask the lady, but to me thats very rude.

I also wanted to know, what goes on at a daycare? What is a daycare for??

The place I might be working at has kids from 12wks to 8 years.

How does that work? Will I watch all of them? Or be divided into a certain age category?

Because what my boyfriend told me is that they might put me with 6-8 year olds since they are the easiest, but I really wanted Toddlers or their 6-10 month age group.

They have to pay you minimum wage at least. What you probably heard is if you are having children in your home or at their home they dont have to pay you minimum wage it just depends what you agree on. You will be worked around they may even ask you what age group would you feel more comfortable with. They will watch and see how you handle each child and their age group. Remember they all want love and attention. The parents like to see you interacting with the children. Watching them carefully. Good Luck.

Q: I start a full time babysitting job in two weeks and I need to know how to be a fun babysitter. I'm going to be watching an 8 year old boy, A 6 year old girl and a baby boy who is 6 months. I'm not sure what to do to keep them occupied. Please help!

Honestly. keep the tv off. no cell phone. spend you time playing with the children outside or inside. Don't just let them play alone all the time and only worry about the baby because the two oldest children will be offended.

Q: I am a guy and I wanna babysit to make money but everyone tells me thats a womans job. What should I do?

It's not just a womans job. Alot of times they say this because they say most woman mature before men do. Im my opinion I would like someone who is mature who doesnt sit and talk or text on their cell phone the entire time. my kids are full of energy and love to be play with and to constantly run. I need someone to keep up with them rather thats a male or female as long as i feel i can trust them

Q: I'm fourteen and I am babysitting an eight year old girl and 5 year old boy for the next three and a half weeks. My first day was today, and I was already running out of ideas, which scared me to death! Any recommendations?

You are really thinking way to much on this. This should be fun for you because they are children they like to play outside and they like when their baby sitter plays with them. kick ball, any kind of ball mostly outside stuff. movies etc just about everything.

Q: I founded a babysitting referral business at www.flowersitters.com and I currently charge families $10.00 to refer a sitter, and $7.00 to refer an additional sitter - short-notice fees, as well, if the bookings are made less than 48 hours in advanced, however, I don't tend to receive very many short-notice bookings.

I'm considering raising the referral fee to either $12.00, $15.00 or $20.00, but I am not sure. Right now, I answer phones and e-mails, contact sitters and the family to set-up interviews and exchange information, and then I release contact info after receiving the referral fee.

What would be a fair price to raise my current price to?

Raising the price may lose you buisness. A lot of mothers can't afford day care because of the price. Keeping your prices low helps them a lot. being a young mother I know. II looked into daycare while i would be at work but it was crazy high.

i think your website is a great idea. are you willing to allow the mothers to interview you before they decide to go with you i know with my son im very catious to whom i allow watch him.

Q: i work at a day care with 3,4, and 5 year olds and i have a 3 year old who likes to spit and everything we have tried backfires also she acts out a lot throws a ton of tantrums and agrees to everything even if u say she will go to time out or go up front or something like that cause her mom works there so she thinks she will get to see her but the spitting just needs to stop but we dont know how. any ideas

Try the time out but away from her mother and the other children. have her sit facing the wall or something for so long. she comes back to play and does it again put her in time out again. its going to take some time but she will start to relize she isnt going to get put in timem out to see her mom or play with the other children

Q: My best friend and I are thinking of starting a babysitting business, since we're both certified in CPR and First Aid, and have taken a bunch of babysitting courses, too.

We were wondering how we could go about this.

Like what should we charge, should we baby-sit together, or on our own, how should we advertise, .etc.

you could advertise by making flyers and passing them out hang them round. once you baby sit for someone and you do a good job that person will tell someone else. baby sit alone unless there are alot of kids. once in awhile itd be fun for you and the kids for the two of you to baby sit together. pricing should go about the parents it depends on how many kids they have.

Q: I was wondering anybody know a site.. or books on like stuff deal with working with kids and all. I have exprineces but only with family memeber becouse they my cousins i know it different working with kids who they don't know you or not a related or anything. i know kinda the same but alot different..

its easy have an imagination. like coloring books and crayons. dancing. reading. movies. crafts. etc.

Q: ok i babysit this little girl shes 3 and when its close for her to go to bed she starts crying because she misses her mom what do i do.

i agree with jessica. my 1 year old cries when i leave him with a baby sitter put in a movie lay with her until she falls asleep

Q: I'm 15/F turning 16 in october. I'm desperate to get a babysitting job, so my cousin told me to make flyers to put around my neighborhood.

What should kind of information should I put on the flyer, like my name and phone number.

How should I decorate it and what additional information should I add?
