about
I'm 21 years old, have had my share of different types of relationships so I enjoy answering love life questions. Whether it's about getting closer emotionally or physically don't hesitate to ask, hopefully I'll be able to help. I also love the medical field and will be a registered nurse soon. If you have any questions regarding a recent medical diagnosis (don't ask for one please, not a doctor) I can help you better understand it and the treatment as well
advice
I love my voice, and I plan to be famous. I've always wanted to write a song, but I just don't know how. It seems easy, but it isn't for me. How do I write a song?
Well I can tell you how I write my songs; get a paper a pencil and whatever instrument you play. Make a chord progression or play some notes that will make up your first versus and intro if you want, then you take it one line at a time with words. I've found if I write a full song without the notes with it it's really hard if not impossible to put the music part along with it.
I know you love your voice and all but maybe you should take some lessons just to see if your as good as you think you are. Chances are your not but that's fine, if you really love music then you'll practice until you get where you want to be, gl
Does anybody know any songs by a FEMALE singer about being in love but people keep doubting that love? Like they keep insisting it won't last but the female singer says it will?
Please only list any songs recorded between 2000 and 2011.
I like pop, pop-punk, rock, electro-pop, and SOME country. Like Taylor Swift, Cady Groves, Carrie Underwood, or The Band Perry.
Thanks!

Rachael Yamagata- be be your love
I am in love with this guitar
http://www.lunaguitars.com/acousticprodu…
But it is 3/4 size.. would it be a bad thing if I played it? would it be hard to transition to full size and/or electric guitar since its not full size? I'm 16 btw.
If you don't think I should get it, what other sites can I get interesting acoustic guitars from? I hate the kinds that are just a boring tan, and maybe with a strip of a darker wood on it. But I don't want something cheesy like Daisy Rock.
Thank you!
I cant see the guitar because of the link but if your 16 then you should start with a full size guitar, im sure it wont be too hard to find one you like.
Like the other guy said the sound of the guitar is more important than the looks. When i first started i only really knew the difference between the classical guitar sound and a acoustic guitar sound (In general). And for your first guitar thats all you really need to know. If you listen to rock than your probably looking for a acoustic guitar or acoustic- electric. All that means is that you can plug your acoustic into a amp to mess with the sound and make it louder.
So i suggests you find out what kind of guitar your looking for, than fall in love with what it looks like.
A little advice, I've heard that guys find it easier to play guitars with cut outs, so you might wanna pick one with one. Gl
Hello 14 f
I was wondering if it was possible for me to learn piano on my own? I have one of those piano sets that the keys light up..well I really want to learn, I don't want to have to pay for lessons... would like to write a song for my bf and play it for him..Really I would like to know? is it really that hard?
I think you should atleast start out with lessons so you can know in which direction to go. Going by a book might not be all that beneficial.
I started the guitar about 2 years ago and first started off going by a book and learning to read normal sheet music. I soon started taking lessons and my teacher wanted me learning chord names which helped me out alot more. I dunno how the piano is but with the guitar you can find "guitar tabs" for pretty much any song, normal sheet music not so much. If i would have continued with the book then it would have taken me alot longer to learn the chords, develop the muscle memory (which took forever), and play off of tabs easier.
As for playing and writing a song for your boyfriend... Im sorry but it sounds so much easier than it actually is. Again im not too familiar with the piano but anybody whos played the guitar for a year or so can put together some basic chords and make a song like that. Don't expect to get it the first time.
Im sorry if i made you ify about whether or not learning to play but just know its gunna be tough, even though it is stick with it. Deciding to learn how to play the guitar was one of the best decisions i've made.
Gl
iv tried and iv tried but i cant figure out the strumming pattern for bored of your love by meg and dia. can anyone tell me??
Well its not so simple. The guy in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o__rNEgAQZo
Is playing it with a basic strum pattern but he does add on to it which isn't that hard to play but would take a while to write down so im just gunna give you the chorus.
1= up
2= down
p= pause
X2= twice
1p121,1p121,1p121,121211 X2; 1p121,1p121,1p121, 121/121
The pause is kinda quick and when you strum down after, only hit a couple of the top strings (for the first "1" after the "p"). Where i put the (121/121) strum harder then normal.
Gl and if your having trouble with the rest of the song just go back to the 1p121 and add on to it till you get it right.
So I just started playing the guitar recently and learend 'Wonderwall' by Oasis. What are some other faily easy songs like that to learn on guitar? If you know any reggae songs that'd be great. Thanks! :)
The first full song i learned how to play was All time low- Remembering Sunday. Here are a couple of other easy songs and bands that have simple songs
Taylor Swift
Avril Lavigne
Dashboard confessionals- Don't Wait
Jason Aldean- Why
The chords on Jimmy Eat World- 23 (I say the chords because the single notes and solo's are going to be tough for a beginner)
You might be able to do The spill canvas- All over you; it has a few chords but its a fast song.
GL and if your having trouble finding tabs use Ultimate-guitar.com
for christmas along with a present im gona try and make my boyfriend a cd. i can do singing, guitar and piano for it by just recording each seprately and overlapping them. i taught myself how to do all three and im not good but im not bad. he loves metal music and pink floyd and journey type music so i wont do too girly of a song but maybe like parachute or evanescence? im 15 and a girl with a lower but not to low girl voice. what are some bands and songs that my voice could better match?
Fireflight is the first band that comes to mind. There lead singer is a girl but they don't really sing any girly songs. I've looked up a couple and the only song that i've found that doesn't require a different tune on the guitar is "Wrapped in your arms". It's a very easy song to learn and has a good meaning.
Sorry i just noticed you wanted it as a Christmas present; well if you make another cd for him its a good song.
i want to learn a song on acoustic as i sing it also. but i dont know which song would match my voice well and would be easy to play. first off im 15/f and my voice matches somewhat to amy lee from evanescence and then also to alter bridge and rise against?.. im average. but any ideas of easy guitar songs and or singing. thanks!
Hmmm Amy Lee? If you can sing like her you can sing anything.
Avril Lavigne- Nobodys home; Is a really simple song. All you need to know is the Em, D, G, C chords. Here's the link to the tab
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/a/avril_lavigne/nobodys_home_ver2_crd.htm
Ultimate-guitar.com is the best site ive found for tabs. If you like Taylor swift you should look her up; pretty much all of her songs are basic.
I listen to alot of rock so if you could give me any band names i could tell you what songs are easy to learn by them.
Gl and for "Nobodys Home" i recommend you use a variation of the Em 022033 instead of 022030
Sorry about that; the numbers are for where to place your fingers. I know it's a little complicated but I'll give you a example.
The A chord would be 022200 right? You would put your fingers covering the 5th, 4th, and 3rd strings on the second fret (the thinnest string is the 1st string). So for the variation of the Em (E Minor) chord I was talking about it would be 022033; you covering the 5th and 4th strings on the second fret and the 2nd and 1st string on the 3rd fret.
Hope I cleared that up for you; if you don't understand pick up the guitar and go step by step. Gl
me and my friend want to sing lucky for the talent show...its the first song i've ever sang like in front of anyone and im really nervous....are there any good singing tips for this song? he's never heard me sing either but he says i have a good voice...if that makes any sense? :/ we're obviously gonna practice together beforehand...im nervous, even singing in front of him and i want to keep my cool. any advice? thankss :)
I haven't sang in front of a crowd before but i have sang in front of a couple of friends. And i was pretty nervous the first couple of times.
1. You should practice as much as you can together and not just that same song (You don't want your song to get boring to where you don't feel like singing it anymore).
3. Sing in front of your friends and ask them what they think. And tell them to be honest because you want to get better.
2. Warm up your voice before you go on stage.
Thats it good luck at your talent show
OK here is the long and short. I have a CD Burning program called CD Burner XP, I have a CD-RW by Memorex ( I am sure this time that it's CD and not DVD) I have a Dell computer and Some MP3 songs that I downloaded from MP3Panda.com... How do I get them onto the CD where I will be able to play it in my car or in my CD player. Please be detailed. I have tried using Burn Data CD and Burn Audio CD and everytime either my cd get's rejected or it doesn't register that there is a CD...Oh and here are the CD Drives I have on my computer... the one that says DVD and DISC and the other says DVD RW DISC (the latter one is the one that I have beenn using. When I use the other the programs never accept that there is a CD in there. Thank you for the DETAIL! :)
Not all cars can play cd-rw you need to download them into cd-r's. I use itunes to burn cd's, it's fast and simple. Gl and keep it as a audio cd not a data disk
I am learning to play guitar on my own. I have written a few songs and I am pretty good at that, but I would like to learn how to play really well. I heard guitar tabs work. I have seen them but I do not understand how to use them. Can you send me to a site that has them where they are for beginers or there is some explination for how to use them. Thanks.
Guitar tabs are really simple. Ok there's 6 lines which resemble the 6 guitar strings. The Highest string is the first string on the guitar (The thinnest E string). The bottom line on the tab is the 6th string (The thickest E string). The numbers on the lines say which fret to place your finger and strum (just that string). If it has more then one number going straight down then its a chord. Tabs are good but you also need to learn the chord names. I suggest you learn how to play the G,A,Am,E,C,D,Bm,B,F chords. They're in almost every song you will play. Here's a good site
Ultimate-guitar.com
One of my favorite songs is "The best" by cartel. If you have a capo its a good song to start with if your gunna try tabs first. Here's the link
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/c/cartel/best_tab.htm
Good luck
