advice
I have my own songs, a music maker, and microphone/soundrecorder and CD burner on my computer. I've made one song all by myself before and I wanna make a demo CD.
SO... the big Q is...
How do I found out WHERE to send the demo CD?
What will the people I send it to be looking for? (i.e. 3 of my own songs, 1 of my own songs and one of someone else's, just one song of my own, just 1 of someone else's.... etc)
And CAN I sing someone elese's song because my voice rocks at it just for the demo CD and not have the artist get ticked at me (and not be breaking a law???)????
*sounds confusing sorry*
HELP i need the answer ASAP cuz I wanna start NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks
Well you have the most important step done you have you're songs created. You should have no more then three of your best songs...the people that will listen to your cd will not want to listen to all of your music. Make sure your demo sounds like radio material do not have any background sound or anything. Do not make your demo package full of junk just include the cd with your full name song titles and address and phone. You can submit your demo to a band that sounds like you...myspace is a wonderful way to do this, or you can search labels that are looking...and send it to them. You can sing another artists song if you follow these rules
1. It's your voice and only yours
2. It's you or someone else playing the music
You must have someone playing the drums and guitars for the background music...or you can sing it solo. If you don't have sheet music for the song I suggest buying it from a local music store, do not grab it free from a tab site. I hope you have luck and my advice has help!
