my name is Rachel. I just got saved November 25th 2012 about 8 months ago if that helps you to answer my question. my problem is i am having trouble reading and understanding the bible but I was raised with the old fashioned church of God beliefs some of them are crazy I know but here is the main one I want to know about whether if it's true or a bunch of nonsense is that it is a sin to read any other version besides the King James because I have been trying to read the King James version but I just don't understand it at all it's confusing to me but my Granny who died at the age of 92 years old always told me that I would go to hell if I read any other version besides the King James . I mean I don't think I will was it her just being old fashioned or is it actually a sin ? my other questions are about not wearing makeup and Jewelry and pants this is just what my Granny taught try to take in consideration of that . I just want to know for sure .my cousin who is a preacher tells me that was just her being religious and old fashioned that it doesn't say that anywhere in the bible but I am just double checking .
