So, i got two beautiful all white kittens about four months ago. My mom never really liked cats, but she let me get them. Ive always done everything she asked reguarding them, and cleaned the litter everyday. Since they were obviously still kittens they would get into stuff, and it would really get to my mom. She mentioned about getting rid of them quite a few times, but she always made a joke of it. Our agreement was, if i fail to clean the litter then she would get rid of them no questions asked. Well, last night she said something to me about how its a bad time to mention it but she has made a decison about the kittens. She said they are too much to handle and that i am never home (i work a lot) all i did was cry and walked outside.
This morning i woke up, about 20 minutes later i asked my mom where the kittens were. And she went "oh i took them to the shelter" I started freaking out and crying hysterically.
So, she took the kittens to the shelter when i was asleep. She didnt let me say goodbye, and didnt tell me she was taking them since we didnt really have a talk about them because i walked away.
I have never been more heartbroken in my life. Knowing that my own mother could hurt me in this way. I really dont know what to do, or how i can actually get over it. In my opinion it was extremely low of her to do so, knowing that i had them when they were 3 weeks old until now. I was extremely attached and she knew this. I plan on going to the shelter tomorrow in hopes to get them back. Why would she do this? How do i get over the worst pain of my life?
Any opinions on anything said above?

Well, first of all, yes that was VERY low of her. but she is your mom and you have to accept her decisions. I know you were attached to them, but trying to get them back will just make you and your mom angry at each other, and it wont end up pretty.
And i also think that she took them when you were asleep because she already decided she would take them, and because she probably thought that it would help you to not have to say goodbye.
Also i know that it is a terrible pain, but there are more painful things and the world. so be glad you dont have to deal with them.
I dont want to make it seem like im on your moms side, but i really am trying to help. and im sure the kittens will go to a great home.
