I went running with a friend a couple of days ago, and I got goose bumps, then my skin kind of became numb, and I started getting weird small 'lumps' on the surface of my forearms. Why did this happen? Is it because I'm used to being inside a heated house most of the time? I was wearing capri workout pants, and my legs began to turn red and started to chafe. I was wearing a plain tshirt, and noticed the bumps on there. This happened when I was went into the cold water in the beach. Is this normal?
When you work out, like running, it's normal for your skin to look a little different. For example, when you burn fat, your skin sometimes turns red. One of my friends is on swim team, and after swimming a lot one day he noticed that his skin was red. It was because he was burning fat. It's not a medical condition or anything, it's just your body's natural responses to doing stuff like working out or going into cold water at the beach. It's kind of like the blood rushing to the surface thing. Also, I run a lot, and sometimes after sweating I get random chills/goosebumps. If you don't work out much and then you start working out, weird crap happens, but it's completely normal.
