advice
my hair has been greasy in the roots and uner-layers for a few months now.
it's making me mad because i now have to limilt the way i wear my hair so people don't see the grease.
it was never like that before.
i don't remember how i washed it before but now i wash it about 5-6 times a week and i scrub the shampoo on parts of my scalp, not my actual hair.
i don't know what to do !?
SO IM ASKING..
is their a proper way to wash your hair ?
where should you put the shampoo exactly ?
how long should you keep it in there for ?
what temperture of water should you use ?
how long should you rinse for ?
how long should the total shower take ?
should you put the shampoo on your actual hair or just the scalp ?
what shampoo should i use ?
haha, sorry i went a little over-board with the questions. you don't have to answer all of them. i am just curious to know how you wash your hair & what i should do.
THANKS !
Wow, lots of questions, haha. I think your problems lies in the conditioner (if you use conditioner, or if you don't then just pretend I'm talking about shampoo).
The scrubbing of the scalp might have a little bit to do with it. Try not doing that next time you take a shower.
Okay, if you use conditioner, then make sure that you don't apply it directly to the roots. Only use it for the length of your hair, and make sure you wash it out all the way. Supposedly it helps if you rinse in cold water, but that gives me chill bumps so do what you want. Also, the fact that you wash your hair 5-6 times a week may have something to do with it. Try only washing every other day. I know it sounds gross, but over time it will get better. It sounds like by scrubbing your scalp, you're taking the natural oils out of your scalp, and it's trying to overreplenish it (the grease). Rinse for as long as you need to! You can never rinse too much :) And next time you need to buy shampoo, try looking for a shampoo for oily scalps. That might help too, but I truly believe that the scrubbing of the scalp has a LOT to do with it. So hopefully your hair will get better!
EDIT: Yep! I mean, keep washing your roots and stuff, but don't focus as much on your scalp :)
(Rating: 5) thanks !
so you think that i should apply the shampoo to the actual hair rather than the scalp ?
