about

My real birth certificate name is Brittany but that doesn't fit me or the way I live my life at all, so I go by Topaz. I don't fit in with my family so, if you've seen "cheaper by the dozen", a few of them call me "fed-ex". I'm not rich, or popular, and I'm not a daddy's girl. I'm not completely "broke" but I definately understand a life of poverty. I struggle with low self esteem and self confidence, and have contemplated suicide in the past. I am in honors classes and on the road to success in life. I am christian and my faith is important to me. It's safe to say I am your "run of the mill", average, "plain jane" type of girl. I've been told I'm mature for my age, though I do have my moments. I've been through a lot throughout my childhood, but I've also gained a lot of knowledge from my past, so hopefully it will pay off. I love to help people in any way that I can. So here I am, here to help.

This is a bit of a tabu question. I am a singer. I have been told by a few teachers that I am a second soprano. i have always felt like I have the potential to reach higher notes but have never gotten past an E. ( now I am no expert. but it should be about an octive higher than the open E on the guitar. The smallest last string). Last night in the shower, I was pleasing myself, and i felt like singing for some reason. When I started singing, I was able to reach 2 full notes past what I normally can. I believe that would make it a G. Very clear, very easy on my throat. When I sat up and tried to do it it was scratchy and hurt my throat. When I laid down and started pleasing my self again, it came out easy and free. I even tried lying down and doing it but it still hurt my throat. So I am wondering why that happened and how do I reach those notes with clairity and ease without having to please myself at the same time? Thank you for your wise answers.

I'm a second soprano as well, my range pretty much tops out at G. If you can sometimes hit the G and other times not, part of it might be how you hold your mouth and how your hips are...well...positioned. If you have yourself positioned so that your body is not hunched or curled up or out of line, and you open your throat, relax your embachour you should have no problem hitting the G standing up.

hope i help :]]

(Rating: 5) I see where you are coming from. When I was relaxed in the tub lying down, I just let my body do what it needed to do to hit the note and it happened. Now if I could just figure out how to do that standing up. But it's cool to know that I can look forward to doing it without being in the "bed" hahaha
