Hey, 15/f/NC here searching for marching band help.
You see, I transfered from private to public school this year because my private school lacked the academics I needed to get into college. I've always been a huge band geek, so the moment I saw marching band listed as an elective with credit, I signed up.
The thing is, I don't know the slightest thing about marching band! Yes, I know how to play my instrument (flute), very well, in fact. But I have no idea what "steps" they use, etc. The playing my instrument while moving factor won't be that hard, but the actual steps might be.
Do you have any tips/tricks/heads-up information to offer? If you do, PLEASE answer. Your help, however small, will be greatly appreciated.

Dear 15/f/NC,
Yes, marching has been a part of my sisters life... she's a freshman this year in the sax section.
Tip - Just work right through the pain... it'll pay off in the end.
Trick - Always remember, heel to toe, then toe to heel (foward and backward).
Heads up - Marching band is harder than people think... work hard and don't pay too much attention to mistakes.
I know that's not much help, but that's all I have.
Hope it may have helped you a little bit.
Love to you from Christine.
