My iron has black stuff on the bottom and it keeps rubbing off on white clothes but it won't be wiped off. Any tips for getting it off and any idea why it's there in the first place?! (link)

Hey,
Happens for a number of reasons...best thing to do is to use a peice of very fine sand paper to rub it off, run the warm ( not hot ) warm iron over a few peices of wax paper and you should be good to go..
